Yes dear member it’s that time of the year when all our thoughts are geared towards the clubs Annual General Meeting. This year it will be held on Thursday 7th Dec starting at 8pm. All members are welcome however only Full Playing Members, Vice Presidents, Past Playing Members and Life Members have the right to vote.

It is at the AGM that we vote in a new committee and also new captains for the year. Nominations must be received by 1st November with a proposer and seconder. This year to make the process easier nominations can be e-mailed to the Secretary on info@uptoncricketclub.com. Please ensure that you title your email AGM Nomination. State the position you want to nominate the person for and please and put a telephone number for the person nominated, the proposer and seconder so the Secretary can confirm it is a valid nomination.

The roles that make up the Governing Committee that are up for election are as follows:

Chairman
Vice Chairman
Secretary
Treasurer
House Chairman
Grounds Chairman
Bar Chairman
Cricket Chairman
Development Officer
Communications Officer
General Committee Members x 2

Although some nominations have already been received I would like to encourage as many people as possible to put their names forward. If you feel that you can contribute to the running of our club then why don’t you put yourself forward for election?

In the event of more than one nomination for a post, the members will have a vote on the night of the AGM to decide.

Finally, on the night of the AGM the first drink of the night will be free!
