Wildgoose takes 100+ wickets for the 6th time in 7 seasons!

The 1927 season was more successful than the previous year with 16 out of 25 games won, and also marked the first appearance of great Club servant FJ Callaghan who would later go on to captain the 1st XI.

The batting was dominated by L Phillips with 571 runs, 'Buddy' scored 368 runs and EA Jenkins 355 runs. Bowling performances again dominated the scene with A Wildgoose leading the way with 103 wickets. On 13th August, this medium/fast right arm bowler took a hat-trick against Prescot, and in the same over created a Club record by taking 5 wickets in a maiden over.

WL Reade added his support with 45 wickets, and EA Jenkins took a further 27 wickets. In the field, JJ Jones took 10 catches, whilst WN Derryman took 18 catches and made 14 stumpings.
