Exciting season ahead...

Cheshire Ladies Cricket League

On Tuesday night at the Cheshire Ladies County League AGM, the Upton proposal to enter the league in Division 3 was voted en masse.

This decision is brilliant news for the club as the Ladies section can now continue to grow, and also gets our ladies & girls into a competitive, yet suitable league for the 2018 season.

We enter this 9 team league as of April 2018, with fixtures and the league format yet to be announced, and are expected to be published in late February. The increase from 6 teams to 9 shows that the league is growing and this is an exciting time for us to be joining. Our good friends at Marple and Nantwich also had applications to join the league accepted and we look forward to our fixtures with these teams, as well as those with the teams already established in the league.

As well as the league format, we also have opportunities to enter the Cheshire T20 competition which furthers the number of fixtures that will be available to the ladies this coming summer.

Another exciting announcement from last night was the proposal for a softball league both over the winter and then through the summer, which will give those not quite confident enough for hardball the opportunity to play competitively, whilst still having the comfort to play with the soft ball.

Further details of this will follow later in the month following confirmation of the venues and dates for these events.

Anyone can join the club and everyone is welcome to come along and just have a go. Ladies membership for next year will be priced at £25, and this sum will cover all training sessions and make you eligible to play in the hardball and softball leagues throughout 2018. However, if you just want to have a go first, we will offer a trial period, where you can just come along to the training sessions to have a go.

Keep an eye on the website and all of our social media platforms for further updates and key dates over the coming months.
