Andy Roberts back in the fold...

We are delighted to announce that Andy Roberts has been appointed as Senior Cricket Coach for the 2019 season.

Andy has a wealth of experience in both a playing capacity having not only represented our 1st XI with distinction but also represented Caldy, Wallasey and Neston as well as two spells playing Hawke Cup Provincial Competition cricket in New Zealand.

From a coaching perspective, Andy is an ECB Level 3 coach and has been involved in coaching for 20 years having coached Cheshire Under 16's, the Wairarapa Provincial side (New Zealand) and was also an coach at the Brendon Bracewell Academy in New Zealand.

After some time out of coaching due to work commitments, Andy resumed his coaching back at Upton from 2013 to 2015 helping blood a number of younger players who are now cornerstones of the 1st team.

Commenting, Andy enthised "I've been very fortunate to play with some fantastic cricketers and coaches over my career and will aim to pass on this knowledge and experience to aid the continued progression of the club. After 2 years of not much cricket due to work commitments at Wirral Youth Zone, a change in role has allowed a return to cricket and I'm very much looking forward to getting started in helping Tom carry on the progression of senior cricket at Upton over the forthcoming seasons."

Andy will commence his coaching duties at Winter nets which start in January
