Raising funds & awareness for VSF

This coming Saturday, a team from Upton CC will be taking part in the weekly ‘parkrun’ in Birkenhead Park and would appreciate your help to cheer them along. Dressed in full cricket gear, the Upton XI will be led by parkrun regular & Club President Brian Shenton and consists of members from all different facets of the club.

The full squad is The full squad is Brian Shenton, Shaun Lynch, Phil Wood, Tom Wood (U11s), Ellen and Philip McGowan, Callum McCormick, Simon Simcox, Rich Battersby, Sam Newns (U9s), Mark Newns (Sam’s Dad and a proper runner!)plus “there’s only one Johnny Winder” . Brian and Phil will be the “Opening Batsmen” running in pads, gloves etc.

Now they’re not just doing this because they are getting withdrawal symptoms of not having put their ‘whites’ on for a week, they are doing it to raise funds and awareness for our charity partner, Vital Signs Foundation. There will be bucket collections on the day, but if you want to sponsor them beforehand, please click the link to the Just Giving page HERE

The run starts at 9am and the start is near the Park Drive entrance to the park (full details can be found HERE) and the best place to park your car is on Park Road West.

If you can help in any way with collecting donations, please contact Brian Shenton on 07815 857549
