We need some help & we'd love you to become involved...

As ever, a finely oiled machine like Upton Cricket Club doesn’t just run without a lot of people putting in a little bit of time. With that in mind, we have a number of tasks we’d love you to get involved in where you can please…

Live Streaming
The live streaming of our 1st XI and Ladies matches were a huge success in 2023 and we plan to build on that for 2024. We are looking for a group of volunteers who can help (on a rota basis) set up the equipment before each 1st XI and Ladies home game. The equipment is easy to set up although full training will be given.”.

Photography
There’s some pretty amazing action that happens on the pitch across all our sides which not only create great memories, but really portray the club in a fantastic light when used across our website and social media platforms. We’re on the lookout for somebody to help capture some of those action shots for us. This doesn’t mean you’ll be glued to your camera for the whole duration of each match, just as and when you feel like it.

Past Players ‘database’
As you’ll have seen from the recent article about 1st XI ‘cap’ numbers there’s an incredible volume of players who’ve played for the club. If you consider this was JUST the 1st XI then across all of the other sides the list will be phenomenal. What we’re trying to do is collate a database of as many ‘past players’ as possible with up-to-date contact information so as we can communicate with them to keep them up to date with goings on at the club and hopefully reignite the Past Players Lunch. The ask here is for somebody to take on the role of collating all of this information into a central ‘database’ and we see this very much a case of this information being fed in by several people.

Weekend preview
We proudly boast one of the best cricket club websites in the whole of the UK and that is because our content is good and relevant. Each week, we have a ‘weekend preview’ article which goes out covering off some brief information about each senior fixture. Last season, those articles were written by two (already very busy) people and this year we’d like more people to join us in writing those articles on a rota basis. If we are able to get four people on a rota then you’re only looking at having to write the article once very five weeks or so. There is a set template and format for the article and all the necessary guidance will be provided.

If you can help out in any way whatsoever, please get in touch with Jez Lamb (07887 743 230).

Thank you
