After several days of negotiations, speculation, rumour and counter-rumour we are delighted to announce that we have succeeded in adding a well-known running guru to our squad for the Birkenhead Park run this Saturday July 20th (9 a.m. start).

He is none other than former 1st XI captain Mr Gary Dixon, veteran of over 150 marathons. He recently completed the 56 mile Comrades Marathon in South Africa. What better preparation could there be? I think it is fair to say that several of us have enjoyed a less intense preparation schedule and this is where Gary’s knowledge, experience and wisdom will come to the fore and help us complete the distance.

Feel free to join us in either a running or a spectating capacity. We would love to have as many people from Upton in attendance as possible as we attempt to help Faz raise some money towards his tuition fees.
