It is with great sadness we announce the death of club Vice President and long-time Club supporter Joe McGowan who passed away this morning (Monday 18th May)

Throughout the '80s and '90s, Joe and Joan McGowan, would be seen every weekend watching at least one of their sons Michael, Simon, or Graeme representing Upton.

In more recent times they had delighted in watching all of their grandchildren, Ellen, Hannah and Philip play at both junior and senior level.

Joe was made a Vice President when in the mid-'80s he stepped into the breach and ran for a couple seasons the Upton junior section. Then after he retired he took up the role of cellar-man, going to the Club to accept the brewery deliveries and also ensure the pipes were kept clean.

Our condolences to the family at this time.

The club flag will be flown at half-mast tomorrow as a mark of respect.
