Nathan has a wealth of experience from his years of coaching, running NB7 coaching (his own business) and from playing at the highest level with Timperley CC in the Premier League, whom he will continue to represent in a playing capacity this season.

In further news for the U15s, their training sessions have now moved from a Friday night to a Monday night (6-7.30) with a view to enhancing the space available and to ensure the availability of the senior players involved.

Commenting on his new role Nathan said, “I'm thrilled to get started at Upton, it is a huge club and I'm keen to get stuck in and help them achieve their aims which align well to the way I work - to get the club back at the level it belongs and to bring through juniors into all levels of senior cricket. I've had some great chats with committee members, Matt in particular as 1st XI skipper and we believe we're at the start of a long-term project that will aim to push Upton teams forward in the league system and then sustain positions through ensuring the junior talent pool is given the tools to succeed through specialised coaching and increased exposure.”

1XI captain Matt Owen added, “This for me is a brilliant appointment. Having chatted a lot through the winter with Nathan, I feel our drive and ambition are well matched, which should lead to us having not just a successful season in 2023, but also building our programs for younger players into the future. This should help all the senior sides. I’m sure the Senior players will welcome his addition to the coaching staff with open arms and our U15s will benefit massively from his experience!”

Junior Chair Madeleine Ward added, “Firstly, a huge thank you to Ralf for his years of coaching. We are excited to be bringing our U15s into a new era. Developing their skills and knowledge of the game hopefully leading into senior sides. We believe that Nathan, along with the further support of our senior players, can help make this a reality”

We can’t wait to get the 2023 season started and can’t wait to see Nathan at work in the coming weeks.
