Lee Dixon Appointed Cricket Chairman

UCC Admin

An exciting addition...

We’re delighted to confirm that Lee Dixon has been appointed as Upton CC’s new Cricket Chairman, bringing with him a huge amount of experience, leadership and passion for the game.

Lee’s cricketing CV speaks for itself. He’s played at the very highest level locally, with 269 Premier Division appearances and 77 Minor Counties matches, including captaining Cheshire. During his time at Chester Boughton Hall, he led the club to numerous titles and established himself as one of the most respected figures in Cheshire cricket.

What makes Lee’s appointment even more special is his deep connection to Upton. Having started his cricketing journey here as a junior, he knows exactly what the club stands for and understands the values and ethos that make Upton such a great place to play and be a part of. Since returning to the club in 2023, Lee has been pivotal to our recent development and success, both on and off the field.

Before we look ahead, we want to place on record our thanks to our outgoing Cricket Chairman, whose hard work, dedication and logistical brilliance over the past three years have been absolutely invaluable. The effort and commitment given to the role has left the club in a strong position and created the platform for Lee to now build on.

Speaking about his appointment, Lee said:

“It’s a real privilege to take on the role of Cricket Chairman at Upton. This is where my cricket journey began, so to come full circle and be in a position to help shape the future of the club is really special for me. We’ve got some exciting plans both on and off the field, and I’m looking forward to working with the players, members and wider committee to keep driving the club forward.”

With his knowledge, contacts and commitment, Lee is perfectly placed to help shape the next chapter of cricket at Upton. His appointment marks another exciting step forward as we build for the future.
