We’re very pleased to announce that Simeon Shiff will be joining the squad ahead of the 2026 season, coming to us from New Brighton Cricket Club in the Liverpool Competition.
Simmo is a classy all-rounder — having led New Brighton’s 2nd XI as captain as recently as 2024, he’s amassed nearly 4,000 runs and taken over 200 wickets in his career. He also happens to be one of our own, having started his cricketing journey as a junior here at Upton Cricket Club.
Whilst he’ll bring valuable reinforcement to our senior squads, his arrival adds depth, experience and character across the club. On and off the pitch, Simmo is known as a great teammate: someone who backs the lads, leads by example and lifts the whole environment.
Cricket Chairman Lee Dixon said:
“Delighted to get Simmo to join the club , another good senior cricketer to add to the fold bringing a wealth of Liverpool Comp experience. His love for the game and willingness to improve will put him in good stead for 2026 and we believe he will be a valued member at Old Greasby Road”
Simmo added:
“Delighted to be joining Upton CC for the 2026 season! Really looking forward to getting involved with the lads on and off the pitch. The club’s been doing some great things over the last few years, and hopefully I can help add to that success. Can’t wait to get started!”
We’re excited to see Simmo pull on the green and gold again, contribute with bat and ball, and help us build something special in 2026. It’s another positive step for Upton — and one that gives us every reason to look ahead with optimism.
