Welcome home Cammy

We are delighted to announce that ‘Green & Gold’ cap #671 Luke Camden will be returning to Old Greasby Road for the 2025 season.

Luke returns having gained considerable CCCL Premier Division experience with Neston since 2010, sandwiched either side of a two-year spell in the Liverpool Competition with Birkenhead Park.

During his time at Neston, he racked up some pretty impressive league & cup numbers…

313 appearances
7,746runs at an average of 31.9
A highest score of 118
One century & 50 half centuries

At Birkenhead Park, his numbers were equally impressive having scored 1,108 runs in two seasons

Not only will Luke add considerable firepower with the bat, but also boasts 100 1st XI wickets and 207 catches to add strength in all departments. Luke joins us at the prime of his cricketing career and strengthens the squad ahead of the push for back-to-back league titles.

Commenting on this exciting news, 1st XI skipper Matt Owen enthused, “I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Luke back to the UCG. His quality is absolutely unquestionable, and we can’t wait to see what he can produce on the pitch in Green and Gold. We set out to add someone who improves the overall depth and quality of the squad, and there is no doubt that Luke does this. Already knowing what Upton is all about, makes him a valuable addition to the senior players in the squad. Welcome home Cammy!

Looking ahead to his return Luke commented, “I’m looking forward to a fresh challenge and really excited to be back in Upton colours ahead of the new season. Upton is my home club, and I have some amazing memories from growing up as a junior there. It’s always the first result I’d look for on a Saturday after playing. From speaking to the club, the ambition is clear and hopefully I can play a part in getting them there.

Welcome home Luke, we’re all excited to see you back in the green & gold next year.
