The Governing Committee of Upton Cricket Club is delighted to announce that current President Pete Clark has been appointed for a second term, extending his tenure for a further five years.

Pete has served as President since 2022 and continues to be a hugely respected figure within the club. His reappointment recognises his outstanding contribution to Upton Cricket Club, both on and off the field, and the esteem in which he is held by members.

For anyone unfamiliar with Pete's playing credentials, his record speaks for itself. A former 1st XI Captain for an incredible 12 seasons, Pete led the side to eight major titles during his time at the helm. Across his playing career, he has made over 700 appearances for the club, scored more than 6,500 runs and became the first player in Upton's history to take over 1,000 league wickets.

These achievements place Pete firmly among the most distinguished players ever to represent Upton, and his commitment to the club has continued well beyond his playing days.

Since taking on the role of President, Pete has continued to play an important part in club life, representing Upton's values, supporting its members and helping to preserve the traditions that make the club so special.

Speaking about his reappointment, Pete said:

“It is a great honour to be invited to serve a second term as President of our illustrious club which has been a major part of my life for the last 45 years. Hopefully, we can continue to thrive and develop with the new recently acquired lease and continued success on the pitch will surely follow . I would like to thank all who work tirelessly to drive and improve the club in all aspects both on and off the pitch and assure you of my continued endeavours to represent the club in the best way possible whilst enjoying the friendship and unique camaraderie we all enjoy at UCC. Many thanks for your continued support.”

The Governing Committee is delighted that Pete has agreed to continue in the role and looks forward to working with him over the next five years as the club continues to build on its proud history and traditions.
