On October the 5th, 1st XI captain Tom Marsland, his father Chris and sister Harriet will be running the Galway Bay Half Marathon in Ireland. Tom's partner and long-term cricket sufferer Sophie will also be running the Galway 10km race on the same day.
The group, who are all in training as we speak, will all be participating in support of the club's charity partner, VSF.
Upton are well into their 4th year in partnership with VSF, a charity providing free heart screening changing the lives of young people (www.vsf.org.uk). With over £6000 already raised thanks to the hard work and generosity of Upton members and their friends & families we are proud to say we have been responsible for the screening of almost 200 young people from the local area already.
All runners have been training through a variety of injuries, and the weather in Galway that weekend is meant to be absolutely awful, so any support from the good members of Upton would be massively appreciated by the group. All monies raised go to supporting more FREE heart screenings that might just save somebody's life
