1st XI vs Hawk Green
Date/time: 27th May 2023 | 12pm

Preview: Matt Smith’s 1st XI looks to bounce back after last weeks first loss of the season at the hands of Maritime. 3 changes are made to last weeks side with Luke Williams, Tom Marsland and Chris Stowell Smith coming in. Hawk Green look to continue their winning form having won their last 2 games, most recently last week against Tattenhall. Fielding first, the hawks bowled Tattenhall out for 110, Elliot Young with figures of 4/8. Hawk Green chased the total down with the loss of 2 wickets Tearan Gleeson top scoring with 70.

League positions: Upton 4th (86 points) Hawk Green 5th (72 points)

6th September 2020 (Cheshire Shield semi-final)
Hawk Green won by 5 wickets. Winning the toss and batting Upton Reached 123/4 in a rain effected first innings after 26 overs, Chris Stowell Smith 52. A revised total of 151 was set and reached in the 25th of 26 overs, Chris Stowell Smith pick of the bowlers with 2/27.

2nd XI vs Didsbury 2A
Date/time: 27th May 2023 | 12pm

Preview: Looking to win back-to-back for the first time this season, Sam Talbot returns to skipper his 2nd XI as they take on Didsbury. Apart from himself, Sam’s side see’s 5 changes with Tom Woods, Adam Carney, Paddy Delaney, Charlie Ward and Sophie Morris coming in. Victorious on the peninsular last week, Didsbury claimed all 25 points with a 7 wicket win over Port Sunlight. Fielding first, Didsbury bowled Sunlight out for 65, Syed Haris Umair picking up 4/9. In response. Didsbury knocked them off 3 down, Jason Jeffery finished 25 not out.

League positions: Upton 5th (70 points) Didsbury 6th (65 points)

3rd XI vs Mobberley
Date/time: 27th May 2023 | 12pm

Preview: Ian Sharrock’s 3rd XI look to get their first win of the season on Saturday as they host Mobberley. Sawda makes 3 changes with Alex Waring, Jack Presswell and Gary Docherty all coming in. Another team to lose to Maritime last week, Mobberley will be looking to bounce back at the UCG. Bowling first Mobberley eventually bowled Maritime out for 221, Waseem Hussain, 4/55. In reply, Mobberley were all out for 130, Hussain also top scoring with 69.

League positions: Upton 12th (10 points) Mobberley 11th (11 points)

Previous meeting: 6th August 2022
Mobberley won by 6 wickets. Upton batting first, declared on 201 with Rob Chapman top scoring with 53. Mobberley won only 4 wickets down, Clive Moor 2/28.

4th XI vs Wirral
Date/time: 27th May 2023 | 1pm

Preview: After tasting defeat for the first-time last week, John Scragg looks to get back to winning ways in an all-Wirral affair against Wirral. 6 changes are made from last week with Aron Binu, Olivia Taylor, Jimmy Mathieson, Chelsea McLerie, Dave Charles and Connor Langton. Another team to lose to Maritime last week, Wirral are yet to win a game this season. Fielding first, Wirral bowled Maritime out for 165, S Harvey with figures of 3/41. In response Wirral were bowled out for 87, Matt Roberts 67.

League positions: Upton 4th (67 points) Wirral 10th (5 points)

Draw. Upton batted first and reached 181, Rob Chapman 58 not out. Wirral finished 90/6, John Scragg 4/14.

Ladies’ vs Nantwich
Date/time: 28th May 2023 | 1:30pm

Preview: After last weeks break the Ladies team return to face Nantwich. Lily Scudder makes 4 changes with Cath Williams, Charlie Prior, Ava Prior and Sophie Morris coming into the side. Upton face a Nantwich side coming from a loss last time out to Didsbury. Batting first Nantwich were bowled out for 67, Grace Michell top scoring with 12. Didsbury won the game with 7 wickets to spare, Beth Hughes with figures of 1/7.

League positions: Upton 7th (16 points) Nantwich 5th (36 points)

Nantwich won by 9 wickets. Upton batted first and were bowled out for 29, Phillipa Dagger 9. Nantwich finished 30/1, Sophie Morris with Upton’s wicket.
