Preview: Matt Owen returns to the UCG in his first home game back after injury in a massive game against fellow relegation sufferers last season, Warrington. In what is Tom Marslands 200th first team game for the club, we name two changes with Dan Owen playing his first game this season and Graeme Keenan stepping up from the 2's. Warrington have struggled so far this season picking up just two wins so far. Last time out they suffered a 7-wicket defeat at the hands of Tattenhall. Batting first, Warrington were bowled out for just 124, Aamir Ali top scoring with 24. Warrington picked up 3 wickets before Tattenhall reached the target, Aamir Ali with figures of 2/24.

2nd XI vs Neston 3s

Preview: The 2s make the short trip to Parkgate to play our good friends Neston in a mid-table clash. Sam makes a few changes from last weeks loss bringing in George Williams and giving Tom Maguire his first game since 2021. Our opponents have lost their last 2 games, most recently against Port Sunlight last week. Batting first Neston posted a very competitive 239/7 off their fifty overs David Manchett top scoring with 80*. In response Port Sunlight knocked off the runs reaching the 240 runs needed after just 34 overs and for the loss of 3 wickets, Joesph Scullion with the best figures with 2/61.

3rd XI vs Bollington 2s

Preview: Rob Chapman takes charge of the 3s again as he leads his side out against Bollington at the UCG. Three changes are made from last weeks narrow loss with Dan Peers, Sol Turner and Callum McCormick coming in. Bollington are coming to Upton after a loss to Maritime last week. Batting first, Bollington made 187 from their 50 overs, Cameron Smail top scoring with 52. Maritime proved too strong reaching 190 for the loss of just 5 wickets, Cameron Smail with figures of 2/10.

4th XI vs Frodsham 2s

Preview: Scraggys 4s look to continue their winning ways as they take the trip to Frodsham. This week’s side see’s 3 changes with Bob Floyd, Alex Waring and Jack Preswell returning. Frodsham were victims of a 7-wicket loss last week at the hands of Alvanley. Frodsham won the toss and chose to bat but were bowled out for 129, Thomas Burgess top scoring with 38. Before Alvanley chased the score down Frodsham took 3 wickets, Thomas Burgess also picking up the best figures with 1/20.

Ladies’ vs Stockport Georgians

Preview: Lily Scudder looks to lead the Ladies to their first victory of the season as they host Stockport Georgians. After a week off last week Lily makes 3 changes with Liv Taylor, Becca Lamb and Sarah Mackay selected. Georgians have started the season very strongly, beating Appleton last week. Stockport bowled first keeping Appleton down to 193 from their 40 overs. Georgians eventually got over the line after losing 7 wickets, Skye Thomas top scoring with 94.
