1st XI v Ashley (a)

Preview: The 1st XI travel to Ashley for the second match of back to back away days, following on from last week’s victory against Christleton. Upton are looking to continue their rich vein of form into the second half of the season. Into the side comes Luca Di Stefano in place of Luke Camden. The home side come into the game having lost 8 of their 11 league games so far, and will be hoping to turn things around.

Preview: The 2nd team welcome Lindow to UCC on Saturday, hoping to start the second half of the season with a victory. Last week, the 2nd team lost a close game to Toft, where 20 more runs with the bat may have led to a more positive outcome Coming back into the team are Callum and Liam, who both were unavailable last week. Lindow travel across Cheshire having won 5 and lost 5 so far this season, which seems them mid table at the halfway stage.

3rd XI v Winnington Park (a)

Preview:A change of captain this week as Luke takes a break. Simon McGowan takes the reigns, as the 3rd XI also take back to back away trips as they face Winnington Park. Upton will be hoping to continue the momentum built up from victories in the last three matches, whilst Winnington will be hoping for to build on their victory from last week, as they look to move away from the relegation places. Last Meeting - April 2026. Upton CC victorious by 9 wickets. Winnington Park set 169 for the loss of 8 wickets, and Upton chased this for the loss of 1 wicket with George Williams top scoring with 63.

Preview:The 4th XI welcome Wirral CC to the UCG who sit 2nd in the table prior to their visit to Upton, 8 points further ahead of us. Last week, Wirral CC beat Appleton by 8 wickets, having bowled out their opposition for 82. Meanwhile, Upton go into the game after victory against Tranmere Victoria, who were bowled out for 45 in reply to Upton’s 170.

Ladies 1st XI v Alvanley CC (H0
Date/Time: Sun 5th July | 1.30pm start
Preview: The ladies host Alvanley at Upton on Sunday, in a reverse of last weekends fixture. Upton were victorious on that occasion, due to a fantastic batting partnership which saw us set 226 from our allotted 40 overs (Lilly Scudder 119*, Phillips Dagger 62*). In reply, Alvanley fell 113 runs short due in most part to 5 wickets by Hannah, who was dubbed by her own father as “pound for pound the best McGowan bowler”. Hard to argue this. There are a few changes in the Upton ranks, but they will still be hoping for a repeat performance.
