1st XI vs North East Cheshire (H)

Preview: Captain Tom Marsland returns to the side along with leading run scorer Luke Camden. Sol Turner retains his place in the 1’s following a very impressive opening spell at Romiley last week. The 6 wicket win over Romiley was the 9th league win on the bounce for the 1’s and confidence is high heading into the rest of the campaign sitting top of Division 2. Opponents North East Cheshire have had a rather mixed season so far. After a very slow start (no wins in 1st 5 league games), they have enjoyed a good run which has stuttered slightly with defeats in their last two games to Cheadle Hulme and Oulton Park.

2nd XI vs Oxton (A)

Preview: Skipper Rich Battersby has selected a very strong looking side to take on Oxton away at Townfield Lane. Yeatesy, Luca, Adam Neal and Sam Talbot return to add considerable firepower to the team. Batts’ team will still be buzzing from last week’s nail biter against Cheadle which saw them claim victory by a margin of just 2 runs with Tom Wood holding his nerve with ball in hand for the last over. Tom will be looking to add to the 33 league wickets he has so far to keep him at the top of the 2nd team Prem leading wicket taker rankings. Tom Woods will want to add to his excellent 94 from just 83 balls which set the tone for last week’s win. Oxton have enjoyed a reasonable season so far. They managed to get the better of Brooklands last week chasing down the 200 required for victory 5 down in 45 overs, with opener Charlie Clarke scoring an unbeaten 85.

3rd XI vs Cheadle Hulme 2nd XI (H)

Preview: Luke Williams will be demanding his team bounces back from a rare blip last week away at Grappenhall (defeat by 155 runs). Prior to that, the team had been on an amazing run of 7 consecutive league victories. This achieved in a division comprised entirely of 2nd teams! Availability is good and Luke welcomes back Nick Cockrell, Callum Mc and Joe Smith. We sit just 18 points behind 2nd place with all to play for heading towards last 1/3 of the season. Cheadle Hulme won at home to Haslington last week by 3 wickets (Rob Bone, 54) and will no doubt prove a stern challenge.

Preview: The 4s have no game this weekend as Wirral 3s have withdrawn from the league with all results expunged.

Ladies 1st XI vs Didsbury (A)

Preview: Our Ladies 1st XI will be looking to get back on track after a miserable defeat last week to Nantwich (Olivia Taylor 3/43). This followed an excellent run that saw the team successful in their previous 3 fixtures. Didsbury will be looking to improve on their last two outings in which they have lost by 10 wickets after scoring 71ao and 69ao respectively (both against Hayfield). Our previous league encounter saw Upton prevail by 6 wickets back in May.

Preview: Our Sunday team welcome Burton to the UCC. Captain Phil Wood has selected a team full of youth and experience in equal measure. Last week’s fixture saw our Sunday team victorious over Alvanley in a very tight encounter by 1 wicket (J. Matheson 37, P. Wood 4/22). Spectators may be advised to park their vehicles a few metres further back from the boundary edge following last week’s windscreen incident!
