Preview: Tom Marsland’s 1st XI return home this weekend looking to put some Home Soil wrongs right despite a rich vein of form. The last home league game was the defeat to NE Cheshire, and the side also fell short in the T20 Cup Final at the UCG. Sitting top of the table, the league looks to be bunching up once more with only 7 points separating 2nd place and 4th place, a win and the continuation of previously mentioned form is vital as we enter the last knockings of the season. Tom makes 2 changes to the side with Joe Williams and Alex Townend coming straight back into the side.

2nd XI vs Widnes (a)

Preview: Rich Battersby’s 2nd XI return to the road this weekend in what is arguably their biggest game of the season. They face Widnes who sit second from bottom with just 1 point separating the sides. Batt’s is able to recall Warbo, Luca and Liam Sundve to add some vital experience for this clash.

Previous Meeting: 30th May 2026, Upton won by 122 runs. Upton batted first scoring 260 from their 50 overs (Luca Di Stefano 107). After an all-round good bowling display Widnes were bowled out for 138 (Tom Wood 4/43).

3rd XI vs Heaton Mersey (H)

Preview: Luke Williams’ promotion chasing 3rd XI also have a massive game this weekend as they host 4th place Heaton Mersey. Sitting 18 points behind league leaders Grappenhall, Lukes side will be hoping a win may put them at the top of the Division 2 league. This weekend also see’s a major personal milestone for our club’s top ever wicket taker Simon McGowan. He will become only the third player in the club’s history to surpass 700 league games for the club since debuting in 1982. Luke makes 5 changes to the side that beat Ashley with Ian Potter, Jack Presswell, Sam Neal, Stephen Redfern and Gary Docherty coming in.

Preview: Phil Wood’s 4th XI are flying under the radar in the race for promotion and have lost just one of their last 5 games. They make the trip to Appleton who sit second from bottom without a win for 6 games. Phil makes 3 changes bringing in Lee Gosney, Praveen Fredy and Jakob Cooper.
