Joined UCC back in the 1960's and played for all sides up to the early 1990's. I was captain of the 3rd XI for over 14 years, leading them to three championship in the old Wirral League. In 1991 the third XI joined the CCCL as associated members. In our first season we won the "B" division and the following year won the "A division. It was at this time I started to have back problems which resulted in a halt to my playing career. Unfortunately the problems persisted and in 2003 I need surgery to cure a disc problem. I thought this was the end of my playing career but no I was able to rejoin the club in 2009 and resume my playing career. Now vice captain of the 4th XI and playing for Cheshire over 60's Second XI.
Vice Capt, aka Sorry John or Wishy Washy on account of his laundering the Docs whites! A very slow left arm opening bowler who it is rumoured once turned the ball! This however has yet to be verified. Very lower order batsman renowned for grinding draws.
