Appearances, runs, wickets, catches, stumpings & partnerships...
Next up in our series of looking at the updated Club stats, we move on to focus on individual teams and take a look at the 2nd XI records for league games
Looking at who’s played the most games….
- Former Chairman Graeme McGowan (386) comfortably leads the way ahead of former President Brian Shenton (309)
- Of our current crop of players, Graeme Keenan (226) will hopefully move up a couple of places to 5th come the end of the season
Moving onto the leading run scorers….
- Ian Sharrock (6,174) leads the way, and could he push further ahead now he has relinquished the 3rd XI captaincy and available for selection…
- Battling it out in 8th and 9th place respectively are Ian Potter (3,783) and Darren Warburton (3,485) with both looking to make advances up the leaderboard, however could Andy Beacher (4,023) charge through with a return to fitness and form and keep them at arm’s length
- Further down the leaderboard, Tom Woods (2,270) and Sam Talbot (2,260) are making steady inroads
Moving onto the bowlers….
- Brian Shenton (445) leads the way, but even an ‘average’ season for Graeme Keenan (415) should see him overtake him and claim top spot
- Skipper Rich Battersby (130) will be targeting moving up a few places if his ageing body and international commitments allow
Looking at the safest hands in the 2’s[list]- Graeme McGowan (144) has taken the most catches, but if Darren Warburton (62) can hold just five catches he’ll jump from 11th to 6th in the standings
On to the keepers…
- It’s that man again Graeme McGowan (41) who leads the way with current 2 keeper Sam Talbot one stumping away from featuring
On to the batting partnerships…
[*As with the 1’s, the 2’s batting partnership records have stood for a while with the last one being broken n 2018 when Dave Stewart & James Woods put on 70 for the 9th wicket away at Brooklands
