Appearances, runs, wickets, catches, stumpings & partnerships...
Next up in our series of looking at the updated Club stats, we move on to focus on individual teams and take a look at the 3rd XI records for league games
Looking at who’s played the most games….
- Comfortably out in front is Ronnie Oliver (222) with three of our current players occupying spots in the top 10 – Rob Chapman (161), Gavin Byrom (161) & Ian Sharrock (155)
Moving onto the leading run scorers….
- With a good wind behind him, Gavin Byrom (3,451) could overtake Arthur Irwin (3,764) to become the all-time leading run scorer for the 3s
- With a further four current players in the Top 10 (Dave Charles, Rob Chapman, Ian Sharrock & Charlie Ward), a lot will come down to who new skipper Luke Williams decides to select as to who moves up or down the leaderboard
- Just outside the leaderboard, George Williams (1,034)) will be looking to break into the Top 20 by the end of the season
Moving onto the bowlers….
- Ian Sharrock (355) is possibly a couple of seasons away from overtaking Ronnie Oliver (420) at the top of the leaderboard
- Charlie Ward (101) may have to turn to whispering sweet nothings n the new skipper’s ear if he wants to climb up a few places
Looking at the safest hands in the 3’s[list]- Ian Sharrock (77) and Gavin Byrom (75) will be battling out to see who comes out on top come the end of the season
On to the keepers…
- Dave Wardman (34) leads the way in terms of stumpings, but current keeper George Godwin (10) will be looking to make inroads with another good season behind the stumps
On to the batting partnerships…
- Two records were broken last season, with Tom Wood & George Williams putting on 186 for the 5th wicket (beating Nigel Sharrock /& Gavin Byrom’s 126 in 2006) and Ian Sharrock & Simon McGowan put on 73 for the 10th wicket eclipsing the 64 partnership between Roger Brookes & Derek Thomas back in 1991
