1st XI vs Northwich
Date/time: 24th June 2023| 12 am

Preview:The 1s return home this week after two very hard fought wins last week over Chester and Kingsley. Matt is forced into one change with injured Rich Battersby being replaced by a returning Dave Williams. Our opponents, Northwich have also hit a purple patch in recent weeks winning both their last two games. Most recently, Northwich claimed all 25 points beating Tattenhall by 136. Batting first, Northwich posted 240 from their 50, Pranav Dhanawade top scoring with 90. In response Tattenhall were bowled out for 104, Soruban Dk picking up match winning figures of 4/35.

League positions: Upton 7th (127 points) Northwich 11th (98 points)

Previous meeting: 6th August 2016
Upton won by 3 wickets. Upton won the toss and elected to bowl. Northwich finished 179/8 off their 50 overs, Tom Maguire 3/47. Upton knocked off the runs 7 down, Nat Sariman 85*.

2nd XI vs Port Sunlight

Preview: Another side coming off the back of two victories from as many games, the 2s make the short trip to take on local rivals Port Sunlight. In a replay of the t20 cup match earlier of the season, Sam Talbot takes his side to avenge their loss. Despite having a very similar start as us, Sunlight go into the game on the back of 2 straight losses. Last weeks defeat came at the hands of Warrington. Put into bat, Sunlight were bowled out for 108, Ryan Kearney top scoring with 44. Sunlight were only able to pick up 5 wickets before the game was wrapped up, Adam Pasgon with the best figures of 2/22.

League positions:Upton 6th (123 points) Warrington 7th (120 points)

Previous meeting: 23rd May 2023 (T20 cup)
Port Sunlight won by 94 runs. Bowling first, Upton restricted Port Sunlight to 157, Luke Williams pick of the bowlers with 2/27. Upton were bowled out for 63 in return, Charlie Ward JR top scoring with 13.

3rd XI vs Barrow 2s

24th June 2023| 12 am

Preview: Rob Chapmans 3s return to the UCG in the best form of their season. Unbeaten in two they host a Barrow side winless for 6 games in a crucial game to get both of their seasons going. Rob makes three changes after last weeks draw to Ashley with Sol Turner, Nathan Jones and Connor Langton coming into the side. Barrow will be looking to get their season going again after a disappointing 6 weeks. Last time out their were defeated by a very strong Maritime. Barrow batted first and after 49 overs were 165 all out, Chris Morrison 64. Maritime chased down their score after 35 overs with the loss of just 5 wickets, Alex Hawksby picking up figures of 1/14.

League positions: Upton 11th (62 points) Barrow 9th (94 points)

Previous meeting: 16th July 2022
Barrow won by 6 wickets. Upton were put into bat first and managed 194 before they were all out, Ian Sharrock 49. Barrow chased down the total in the 49th over, Sol Turner 3/60.

4th XI vs Barnton 2s
Date/time:
24th June 2023| 1pm

Preview: The 4s look to get back to winning ways after last weeks top of the table clash with Alvanley. Scraggy names two changes with Dylan Sanderson and Adam Carney brought in. Barnton won convincingly last week beating Appleton by 133. Batting first, Barnton managed 223 from their 40, Nathan Lang finishing unbeaten with 102. Barnton made light work of defending their total restricting Appleton to just 90 from 40 overs, Owen Wilkinson with 4/21.

League positions: Upton 3rd ( 122 points) Barnton 4th (119 points)
