Les started his cricket at Birkenhead St Marys at 16 before moving on to New Brighton, He then joined us here at Upton where he played for the club from 1986 until 2011, representing the club 387 times. Scoring over 8000 runs, Les also captained the 2nd XI for many years and was one of the few players who represented all 5 league sides. He played an active role in rejuvenating the Junior section in the early 90s and after his retirement became the club’s groundsman right up until his sad passing in 2021.
